4th June – SATRA Furniture Flammability Seminar

SATRA is hosting a furniture flammability seminar for manufacturers, distributors and retailers that bring upholstered furniture, bed bases and mattresses to the UK market would all benefit from attending.

It will give an overview of current legislation with information on the tests required, demonstrations, labelling, record keeping, and what the forthcoming legislation could entail.

The programme will include:

  • An overview of the history and current version of the Furniture & Furnishings (Fire)(Safety) Regulations 1988 (as amended) and BS 7177 low hazard.
  • Examining the flammability tests required for various materials used in upholstery, mattresses, and bedding.
  • The record keeping and labelling information that needs to be kept, for how long and what labels should be used.
  • Demonstrations of some of the flammability tests regularly carried out at SATRA.
  • A recap of the development of the upcoming updated Regulations and an informal surgery to discuss specific questions.

The price for NBF and SATRA members is £250. The non-member price is £325.
