The National Bed Federation (NBF) has relaunched its popular Introduction to Beds course, a fast-track learning module now freely available for everyone in the bed industry, no matter their role or level of experience.
Introduction to Beds is ideal for all individuals joining the bed sector – whether in retail or manufacturing – in sales, buying, customer services or production.
The course provides essential information and learnings about the UK bed market, consumer bed-buying habits, relevant legislation, product guidance and a glossary of industry terminology. Users will also learn about major bed brands and the NBF Code of Practice. An important addition to the latest version is an overview of the NBF’s green agenda, covering existing and future projects and advice for businesses making green claims.
The training module is still interactive, with options to listen to a voiceover introduction from NBF executive director Jessica Alexander, and watch supplementary videos on mattress fillings, the importance of stocking NBF approved brands and an explainer video on what the NBF is and does.
Said Simon Williams, the NBF’s head of marketing and membership: “We would encourage all businesses involved in the UK bed industry to include this free course as part of their employees’ induction process. It’s packed full of useful information which will be of particular help to any new starters, and quickly enable them to get up to speed on the wonderful world of beds.”
The Introduction to Beds course is available to download from the NBF website and will continue to be updated when new bed market data and legislation are available: https://www.bedfed.org.uk/education-training/
