The National Bed Federation (NBF) is proud to announce it has been awarded the prestigious ‘ESG Initiative of the Year’ (environmental, social and governance) in the Trade Association Awards 2024, which recognises the best and the brightest of the UK association sector.
The NBF was among 18 winners crowned on Thursday, 22nd February 2024 at the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
Over the past 10 years, the NBF has actively encouraged and supported its members towards a more sustainable future and is committed to continuing this journey in 2024 and beyond.
The judges were keen to commend the NBF for its longstanding commitment to delivering impactful sustainability projects and initiatives for the bed sector.
The NBF highlighted three key projects that were undertaken during the award period. These include the development of EcoDesign Principles for Mattresses and a practical EcoDesign Assessment Toolkit to facilitate implementation, the launch of an Innovate UK part-funded project to develop a new cleanliness of filling methodology and test fit for reused and recycled fillings, and the facilitation of the launch of the Mattress Recycling Association and its Register of Approved Mattress Recyclers (RAMR).
